Приєднався 21 лют 2016
I chose something else - Greencraft - created to make a difference! To help people reconnect with the natural world, to experience actual reality rather than the virtual version the masses are sleep walking into! A world where profit & possessions are paramount!
Greencraft is about balance, taking the good & the fantastic from the modern world and using it to help educate, reconnect & re-wild as many as possible with our natural environment.. To get people out into the woods & green spaces, to sleep under the stars, eat wild foods, craft beautiful things, to follow the trails & signs of the other creatures we share our environment with...these are just a few of the ways Greencraft gets people to think about their impact on the planet. I am not alone in this mission or belief , it is a movement that is growing, and will continue to grow and make a difference.
Here you find an outdoor magazine, packed full of reviews, how-to's, recipes, all things to help you get into nature more...

In one of my recent videos I talked about why I think the humble waterproof poncho is up there with the Mora knife in terms of usefulness for the bushcrafter. A lot of viewers asked if I could show the modifications I have made to mine in more detail. So here it is. I did a review of the Cold Steel Trail Hawk five years ago, but I have actually had this little tool for 17 years - so how has it performed? Is it better than the competition? And why do I find myself reaching for this more often than I do my axes? The BUSHCRAFT PONCHO (and why YOU need one!)

The Mora knife is a bushcraft classic, affordable, durable and super practical. In my opinion the humble waterproof poncho should be held in the same esteem by the bushcraft community and one should reside in any good bushcrafter's pack, and here are my reasons.....plus a few ideas for modding yours!! How to Carve a KUKSA or NOGGIN
Переглядів 3,7 тис.3 місяці тому
Bushcrafters love a KUKSA! It's one of those "must have" bits of kit, but instead of buying one why not have a go at making your own! Here is my guide to making one. *I'm still having issues with the auto-focus in this one, I may have to go to manual focus. My apologies. Bushcraft Tools need to be sharp if they are to carry out the tasks we want them to efficiently (and safely). While we usually have our main sharpening gear at home - we should carry some means of keeping our "sharps sharp" in the field. In this video I look at just such a kit from Polymath Products. BLAH BLAH BLAH 3 MINUTES OF USELESS BLABBER UNRELATED TO THE TITLE SICK OF YOU WASTING TIME WITH YOUR DRIBBLE UNSUBSCRIBED
It's interesting how many of these "dudes" advocate burning plastic....
EDC thanks Neil
EDC nice piece of gear.
Thank you, one of, if not the best video on the subject!

You like a full stop!
I really enjoy the cooking videos. Epically when it’s done on a solo camp. Thanks for the knowledge and entertainment. 👏🏼👏🏼
40 minutes from you that woodland 🤔 Has to be around Luton 😁👍🏼 Nice place you have there, Neil. Hashtag PLAYTIME
I bought mine on clearence back in 1980 never failed me carried it on my trapline for years but there was a small norlund axe in the same store.would jave bought it but I had bought the same size axe the week before. My loss.
You gotta eat 😊
YES! FEED ME!!!!!!!! :-)
From South Africa cooking is ALWAYS welcome.... perhaps you could Google one of OUR meals and give that a bash... How's that for a theme.... <country> woods cooking....😂 Your base camp idea is also intriguing, but has to be at least 5 days on the trot, and primitive tarp tenting for 5 days, great fun... perhaps a tent, designated as a 3 person shelter ? GO ON ! BE BRAVE 😂
EDC. Enjoyed the video!
Definitely up for cooking videos.
EDC. Looks great, I'd really prefer a red light function and really everything ought to be USB C charging these days.
Sorry, but my worst cup of coffee is better than my best cup of tea. I admit tea shines for convenience in the woods. Everything is contained but boiling water, and instant coffee is just pitiful. Even so, if I hike across a Starbucks, say so long to the Darjeeling.
EDC. Looks really interesting not known their torches before. I generally use a battery olight which I use in your pouch system.
EDC - great review, thanks...
Stunning woodland, would love some more cooking videos Neil
Nice spot. Its a well known fact that a nice cup of tea makes everything better 👍
😂
EDC. Thanks again for all the videos. Enjoy each one.
Small folding saws are great for small projects. But if I have to cut enough wood to keep a fire going on a chilly night, or to build a large shelter, I want a 24" saw. Every time your arm switches between "push" and "pull," some time and energy is wasted. A longer blade lets you do the work in less time, with less fatigue or irritation of joints. Tibor's design is clever and very attractive; I may buy one just for that reason. But I think it's something of a "solution without a problem." If my saw will take a 24" blade, I'm going to use a 24". I don't see any advantage in being able to use a smaller blade, except perhaps if I need a new blade and my local hardware store is out of 24's. P.S. I love your ideas about making a "case" for the blade with magnetic material (or velcro, as seen in another of your videos). Brilliant, thanks!
Hello Neil, Thx 4 being an Inspiration . I enjoy your content. Keep doing what you doing. Regards from Germany.
EDC light great
Hi Neil, EDC, thanks.
EDC...Great vid. I love the gear reviews.
E.D.C.
Nice one Neil. I think I will get a friend to make these adjustments to my poncho. Do you have a good source for the polypropolene webbing?
Neil. I like these reviews, please keep doing them. I find them useful info. It doesn't make me rush out and buy kit but it.lets me know what's out there. Keep up the good work
EDC
aye, agree with others, that's a really good little kit
The other point I was going to say... when you said it has one button that cycles through the modes, I thought ok, 3 modes maybe. 11 modes! Way too many, totally agree. Too much choice just gives me a headache 😂
EDC I know sometimes people get fed up with reviews, but I like to know what's out there, hear opinions on them etc. The other great thing about review videos is the comments! Loads of useful stuff very often, so for my pennyworth, keep going! Cheers Neil, great vid
EDC great video
Edc. Cheers Neil
EDC Another great video Neil, thank you.

EDC
For EDC I really like the Sofirn SC13 it's smaller, I think, and about half the price
Honest and far. EDC
EDC is a must have item of kit.
I bought a P3 based on your review when i bought one of your EDC belt pouches. A few years ago. Fantastic little torch, goes with me everywhere and used daily at work, as does the pouch (also a fantastic bit of kit), so keep the odd reviews coming. 😊
EDC really love your videos
EDC
EDC, thanks for another great video.😉
EDC, cheers Neil 👍 Keep up the good work😉
EDC - looks like it could be handy, Neil. 😊
